Brownies

Lorna Robbins (Brown Owl) and Sarah Undery (Tawny Owl)

2nd Shottery Brownies was re-opened in November 2007 when it was realised that waiting lists for Brownies across Stratford warranted opening another pack.

It is run by myself, Sarah Undery (Brown Owl) and Lorna Robbins (Tawny Owl). We are assisted by Rosie Miller (Snowy Owl) who is in the process of doing her Leadership Scheme, and Charlotte Robbins (Piglet) who is a Pack Leader from Bishopton Guides.

Over the coming year, we will be celebrating the Girlguiding UK Centenary. The launch weekend for the Stratford area was held at Ragley Hall where Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Senior Section and Leaders all came together for a fun day of craft, adventure and face painting amongst other activities. The day ended with birthday cake, and party blowers. I wouldn't be surprised if you could hear us back in Stratford!   See photos of this weekend - together with photos of the special service to celebrate 100 years of Guiding held on 7th November, 2010.

Other events that are taking place to celebrate the Centenary are One World, one Beat which is an event being run by Midlands Region in Wolverhampton to celebrate Thinking Day, a Carnival through Birmingham, a Centenary Walk along the Shakespeare Way ending in Stratford, and a finale on 20th October at 8.10pm, which is known as 20:10 20/10 2010.

As a pack, we try to work on one badge per term, and have done Faith Awareness and World Cultures recently. We attend the Family Services at St Andrew's; and take part in various District and Division Events.

We meet on Monday evenings, and if you are interested in finding out more please contact me on 07796 943761.
