On Sunday 10thMay we heard from our own Dartnall family about their recent trip to Thailand during the 10am Parish Eucharist.
The Dartnall Family Trip to Thailand to see the Lives of the Underprivileged Children In February this year we visited orphanages/homes in Thailand for the unwanted and needy children. This proved both a heart pulling and heart breaking part of our journey together as a family. So much love is needed for these children. Perhaps they are scared for their safety at home; sold for money into slavery/child prostitution; or their parents are jailed i.e. through begging or drug taking/trafficking, thus leaving the children alone. Very sadly this list is not exhaustive and very common. Colin, Skyla and I felt that we did little whilst there: helping to care & love the children, playing & reading with them and assisting with the building of the new baby site which all came naturally to us. We soon realised that this part we played was “huge”. We were actually working towards saving lives, and being a part of altering the mindset of the children for the future generations. The gifts we have so readily available and easy to give were making such a vast difference to those children. We were truly blessed, not only to be invited to Thailand but to have the opportunity to go. What we now do with this experience and learning lies in the hands of God. Please keep the children of Thailand in your prayers.
